Accessibility statement

Our commitment

Planting Matrix is operated by Production AS. We want the Service to work for as many people as possible, including users who rely on assistive technologies or keyboard-only navigation.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA where practical. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time audit.

Conformance status

The Service is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

This assessment is based on our own review of the marketing site and logged-in web application. We have not yet completed a full third-party audit.

What works well today

• Semantic page structure and headings on marketing and account pages
• Keyboard-operable controls built on accessible UI primitives
• Visible focus indicators on interactive elements
• Text alternatives and labels on many navigation and action controls
• Cookie consent banner designed for keyboard and screen-reader use

Known limitations

Some parts of Planting Matrix are inherently visual. These areas are where we know accessibility is weakest today:

• Bed planner canvas – placing and editing plants on a spatial canvas relies heavily on pointer interaction and visual layout. Full keyboard and screen-reader support for every canvas action is not yet available.
• Seasonal colour previews – month-by-month colour views communicate information through colour and imagery. Textual equivalents are limited.
• Plant photos – catalogue and bed imagery may not always include detailed alternative text beyond the plant name.
• Exported documents – PDF and print layouts for bed documentation may not preserve the same accessibility features as the web interface.
• Third-party checkout – paid subscriptions are completed through Paddle's hosted checkout, which has its own accessibility characteristics.

We are working to improve these areas over time. Where a feature is visual-only today, we try to keep surrounding navigation, settings, and account flows usable without a mouse.

Technical specifications

The Service relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA where appropriate. It is designed to work in current versions of major browsers. We test with browser zoom up to 200% and with reduced-motion preferences respected where the platform allows.
